Joe Lunardi has offered updated bracketology projections as a new week of college basketball gets underway.

Lunardi’s Monday update had some notable SEC tidbits. He currently sees the SEC as an 8-bid conference, up from last week’s projection of seven teams dancing.

Ole Miss was among Lunardi’s “First Four Out” last week. Two wins later, and Lunardi has the Rebels as an at-large team off the bubble. Chris Beard’s squad defeated Arkansas and Texas A&M to improve to 17-3 overall and 4-3 in conference play. A rivalry showdown with Mississippi State is up next on Tuesday.

Three other SEC teams are mentioned as “rising” in Lunardi’s Monday update. Alabama, South Carolina and Mississippi State have all seen their outlook for the NCAA Tournament improve. Auburn and Texas A&M, meanwhile, are listed as teams that are “falling” heading into this week’s games.

Lunardi did not break down projected seeding for all eight SEC teams on track to get a bid, but four conference squads are currently considered top seeds.

Top seeds

  • No. 2-seed Tennessee (No. 5 overall)
  • No. 3-seed Alabama (No. 11 overall)
  • No. 4-seed Kentucky (No. 14 overall)
  • No. 4-seed Auburn (No. 15 overall)

In the SEC, bubble watch currently involves just two teams. Texas A&M is still dancing, while Florida has work to do.

Bubble teams

  • Last Four Byes: Texas A&M
  • Next Four Out: Florida
