Joe Lunardi came out with his updated Bracketology movements following Tuesday’s developments across college basketball.
In the SEC, one change was Lunardi, the ESPN analyst, put Kentucky into the “Last Four In” area on the bubble. Meanwhile, ahead of Wednesday’s action, Lunardi wrote that Tennessee is still a 2-seed no matter how the Vanderbilt game plays out in Nashville. However, Florida has the “biggest opportunity” on Wednesday with an upset chance at Alabama, which Lunardi describes as a prohibitive No. 1 seed.
The Gators “could vault all the way into the field” with a win.
The SEC now has 7 teams in the projected field, Lunardi wrote, as Texas A&M is trending up following a win over Auburn on Tuesday.
On Monday, Lunardi’s update had 6 SEC teams in the field: Tennessee (a 2 seed), Auburn (8), Missouri (8), Kentucky (10) and Arkansas (11). At the time, Lunardi had Texas A&M and Florida among the “First Four Out” on the bubble.
The SEC’s bubble teams could likely be sorted out at the SEC basketball tournament, which is set to begin on March 8 in Nashville.
