Mark Pope and Kentucky continued their miraculous mid-season resurgence Wednesday night when they took down Texas 85-80, but it may have come at a steep cost.

With the team having already lost the services of guard Jaland Lowe for the season and dealt with other injuries, Tulane transfer Kam Williams exited the win over the Longhorns due to an apparent foot injury.

Early in the second half of the victory, Williams began hobbling after running down the floor. He would leave and not return after racking up 9 points, 1 rebound and 1 assist.

And following the win, Kentucky head coach Mark Pope confirmed that Williams had broken his foot and that he will indeed miss a sizable amount of time.

The 6-foot-8 guard arrived from Tulane after posting 9.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.1 blocks and 1.4 steals per game through 33 contests (28 starts).

That all-around showing earned Williams an opportunity in Lexington, and the Lafayette, Louisiana, native has taken advantage of it. Williams currently averages 6.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.0 assists per outing.

With Williams set to miss an extended period of time, it comes at a brutal juncture for Kentucky. After hosting Ole Miss on Saturday, the Wildcats will make trips to face ranked Arkansas and Vanderbilt squads next week, followed by visits from Oklahoma and Tennessee.
