Max Abmas, star Oral Roberts guard, enters transfer portal as top commodity

Max Abmas, the star guard that led Oral Roberts to their 2020-21 Cinderella run and one of the top guards in the nation, announced Monday that he would be entering the transfer portal after 4 seasons with the Golden Eagles.
Immediately, Abmas (pronounced ace-miss) becomes a top 3 name in the portal, if not the No. 1 commodity teams will be scrambling for this offseason. A few schools immediately come to mind as top contenders: Wichita State, North Carolina and Baylor/Texas.
Wichita State seems like it stands out, but remains a top choice because of its head coach. The Shockers recently hired former Oral Roberts HC Paul Mills to the same position in Wichita, and it would make sense for Abmas to play his final season with his 4-year college HC.
North Carolina and Texas are interesting because of UNC’s need for a spark and Baylor’ proximity to his hometown of Rockwall, Texas, a suburb of Dallas 75 miles north of Waco. Texas, another 75 miles down I-35, is another Lone Star State option.
Abmas averaged just under 22 points with 4 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game last season with Oral Roberts.
BREAKING: Oral Roberts star Max Abmas is in the transfer portal. Averaged 21.9 points this season, 22.8 points last season, 24.5 points in 20-21.
