Missouri adds transfer commitment from former Providence forward

Missouri basketball has added its second transfer commitment of the offseason. The Tigers added former Providence forward Jamier Jones on Tuesday after landing a pledge from former Tennessee forward Jaylen Carey on Monday night.
While Carey is a good addition for his rebounding, Jones is a strong addition for his scoring ability and potential to get even better than he was his freshman season with the Friars. The 6-6 small forward averaged 12 points and 4.5 rebounds per game last season while shooting an impressive 57% from the field and 38.7% from 3-point range.
Jones is considered to be the No. 4 small forward in the transfer portal according to 247Sports.
On top of being an efficient scorer, Jones is great at drawing fouls and using his physicality to get to the free throw line. He’ll need to work on his hit rate from the charity stripe — Jones averaged 66% across 131 attempts last season — but it’s not much to expect that number to go up following his first year in college hoops.
Jones will have 3 seasons of eligibility remaining.
