Florida defeated Alabama in dominant fashion on Sunday afternoon, besting the Crimson Tide 100-77 in Gainesville.

It was a thorough victory for the Gators, who remain in the hunt for the SEC regular-season title with this win. Florida is just one game back of SEC-leaders Texas A&M near the halfway point of conference play.

As for Alabama, the Tide have now fallen to 4-4 against SEC opposition. After the game, head coach Nate Oats was candid about his team’s struggles with Florida’s physicality.

“We did a terrible job adjusting to [Florida’s physicality],” Oats said. “We’ve got to look in the mirror.”

Indeed, Florida dominated this game on the interior. The Gators out-scored Alabama 72-26 in the paint and held a rebounding edge of 41-30 when all was said and done.

Alabama is still on track to earn an NCAA Tournament bid, but it remains to be seen whether or not the Crimson Tide have what it takes to make a deep run in March Madness this season.

Alabama will face Texas A&M on Wednesday in Tuscaloosa.
