Cam Scott has had a change of heart.
Scott, listed at 6-6 and 170 pounds, entered his name into the transfer portal on April 1. Four weeks later, he decided against transferring and will instead return to South Carolina for the 2025-26 season.

A former Lexington (South Carolina) High School star, Scott was the 2-time Gatorade Player of the Year in the state. He was rated a blue-chip recruit by both 247Sports and On3.
Scott has been with South Carolina basketball for 1 season. In the 2024-25 campaign, he made 26 appearances, but did not start. Over 264 minutes, Scott averaged 2.5 points and 1.3 rebounds per game. He shot 27.8% from the field (22-of-79), including 17.8% from 3-point territory (8-of-45).
In December, Scott indicated that he was willing to be patient for more playing time.
Most of it is something the naked eye probably doesn’t see. I’m just letting it play out,” Scott said of his lack of playing time, per The Post and Courier. “I know my time will come. Whenever the time comes, I’ll be ready for it.
It appears Scott is expecting that playing time to come this fall in Columbia.
