SEC foes Auburn and South Carolina will go head-to-head for one of the top quarterback recruits in the country.
The Tigers and Gamecocks are the final teams still being considered by 4-star quarterback Landon Duckworth. Entering his senior season of high school football, Duckworth is regarded as one of the top quarterback prospects at the high school level.
Per On3’s Hayes Fawcett, this decision means Duckworth is canceling his official visits to Florida State and Ole Miss:

Duckworth is an elite quarterback prospect. He’s the No. 51 overall player and the No. 6 quarterback in the country for the class of 2026, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 5 player from the state of Alabama.
Duckworth recently took trips to both South Carolina and Auburn. Those programs have both been involved in Duckworth’s recruitment for months. Listed at 6-foot-3, 195 pounds, Duckworth attends Jackson High School in Jackson, Alabama.
Auburn currently has 8 commitments and has the No. 39-ranked class for 2026, per 247Sports Composite rankings. South Carolina also currently has 8 commitments but its class comes in ranked slightly higher at No. 37 overall. Both programs are expected to add commitments this summer.
There is no publicly known timetable for Duckworth to make a final decision.
