2022 Maxwell Award: 5 SEC players listed as semi-finalists

The semifinalists for the 2022 Maxwell Award were announced on Tuesday.
The award is presented annually to the college football player who is the “best all-around in the United States. The panel of judges includes sportscasters, sportswriters, and National Collegiate Athletic Association head coaches and the membership of the Maxwell Football Club.
The SEC players who made the cut include Alabama quarterback Bryce Young, Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs, Georgia tight end Brock Bowers, Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker and Tennessee wide receiver Jalin Hyatt.
Here’s a look at the other players who were mentioned:

- RB Blake Corum, Michigan
- QB Drake Maye, North Carolina
- TE Michael Mayer, Notre Dame
- QB CJ Stroud, Ohio State
- WR Marvin Harrison Jr., Ohio State

- RB Israel Abanikanda, Pittsburgh
- QB Max Duggan, TCU
- RB Bijan Robinson, Texas
- RB DeWayne McBride, UAB

This is a solid lineup and whether or not an SEC player comes out on top will be something to keep an eye on.
