2024 SEC schedule: Fans, media react to opponents, new format

On Wednesday, SEC teams and their fans learned their 2024 opponents. Dates and TV information will come later, but every SEC team now knows the teams on its schedule for the 2024 season.
The SEC will have a much different feel in 2024. Divisions, and some of the rivalries that came with them, are no more. Oklahoma and Texas are finally on the conference schedule, making for some fun trips for SEC fans to visit Norman and Austin.
Wednesday’s opponent reveal drew lots of reactions on social media. Fans and media members lamented the removal of some rivalry games. As expected, there was plenty of debate about which teams have the easiest or toughest schedules. And what would a college football offseason be without some future hot-seat discussion?

working on a newsletter for the morning, but my initial takeaway is that a more balanced SEC schedule like this one doesn't necessarily make Auburn's life much easier… but it makes a lot of other teams' lives tougher

Interesting that with the SEC ‘preserving rivalries’ in 2024, Missouri is not on the Kentucky schedule. Schools are in contiguous states and there has been some ‘heat’ develop between the two programs since the Tigers joined the SEC in 2012
