Saturday certainly didn’t start well for Alabama, and the Tide made three huge mistakes in the first quarter.

On its first series of the game, Tua Tagovailoa fumbled near the goal line, and LSU recovered it. The Tigers then marched down the field to take the 7-0 lead behind a touchdown pass by Joe Burrow.

Secondly, punter Ty Perine fumbled a snap, and LSU tackled him for a massive loss.

Immediately following the fumbled snap by Perine, Alabama’s Trevon Diggs picked off a Joe Burrow pass; however, Alabama had 12 men on the field. The possession resulted in an LSU field goal, as the Tigers took a 10-0 lead.

Thankfully for Alabama, however, Jaylen Waddle returned a 77-yard punt return for a touchdown to cut LSU’s lead 10-7.
