Will Muschamp and his South Carolina coaching staff have done a tremendous job on the recruiting trail for the Gamecocks in 2018, but sometimes, not even the best recruiting efforts pay off for programs.

That appears to be the case with four-star athlete Bryce Thompson as the Dutch Fork product isn’t expected to sign during National Signing Day. This is according to a report from Lou Bezjak of The State. Thompson is one of two prospects currently committed to South Carolina’s class, recent OL commit Dylan Wonnum is the other — both are four-star prospects.

According to the report, the head coach of Dutch Fork indicates Thompson won’t sign during Wednesday’s National Signing Day. Thompson has been committed to South Carolina since December.

South Carolina currently has the SEC’s No. 6-ranked recruiting class. The Gamecocks already have 12 enrollees and seven signees for the 2018 class.
