The 2020 NBA Draft has been delayed a few months, but as of now, it is still scheduled to be held on Oct. 16.
When the first round does commence, an SEC player — Georgia’s Anthony Edwards — could be the first player to hear his name called. And, a few others are expected to follow him over the course of the first 30 picks.
This week, CBS Sports analyst Colin Ward-Henninger updated his Round 1 projections, and as you can see below, he thinks 5 SEC stars will go in the first 15 picks:
- No. 1 — Anthony Edwards, G, Georgia — Minnesota Timberwolves
- No. 9 — Isaac Okoro, F, Auburn — Washington Wizards
- No. 12 — Kira Lewis Jr., G, Alabama — Sacramento Kings
- No. 13 — Aaron Nesmith, F, Vanderbilt — New Orleans Pelicans
- No. 15 — Tyrese Maxey, G, Kentucky — Orlando Magic
Will any other SEC players rise up draft boards in the next few weeks? We’ll find out on Oct. 16.
