The 2020 NBA Draft will take place at some point — that much is certain. However, it might not take place in June as originally scheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
But, when it does happen, a number of SEC stars will likely hear their names called in Round 1.
As you can see below, in Stadium analyst Jeff Goodman’s latest 2020 mock draft projections, he has 6 SEC athletes going in the first round:
- No. 2 — Anthony Edwards, G, Georgia — Cleveland Cavaliers
- No. 7 — Isaac Okoro, F, Auburn — Chicago Bulls
- No. 13 — Aaron Nesmith, F, Vanderbilt — New Orleans Pelicans
- No. 15 — Tyrese Maxey, G, Kentucky — Minnesota Timberwolves
- No. 22 — Kira Lewis Jr., G, Alabama — Philadelphia 76ers
- No. 27 — Robert Woodard II, G, Mississippi State — New York Knicks
How will that change when the NBA is able to resume activities? That remains to be seen, but this is a good look at where things stand now.
