AD Mitchell is not expected to play in Saturday’s huge showdown against Tennessee, as the Georgia wide receiver continues to battle an ankle injury.

Mitchell, who has appeared in 3 games this season, is battling a thumb injury and an ankle injury, and last played against Auburn, though he traveled to Jacksonville for the Florida game last week. He was not dressed out, but did not play.

Mitchell was expected to be Georgia’s top receiver this season, but his absence has left something to be desired about that expectation.

Mitchell has missed 5 of the last 6 games for Georgia after he suffered an ankle injury against Samford on Sept. 10. Mitchell caught 5 passes for 69 yards and 1 touchdown in the Bulldogs’ season opener against Oregon before the ankle injury on the first play from scrimmage against Samford.

In other Georgia lineup news, Devin Willock was expected to be announced as Georgia’s new starter at left guard,
while Xavier Truss hurt his toe last week against Florida. Jalen Carter was also expected to be announced as a starter.
