AJ Brown explains why he’s not satisfied after Super Bowl 59 win

AJ Brown took some time to reflect on his Super Bowl 59 victory in a lengthy social media post on Wednesday morning.

The former Ole Miss receiver won his first world title on Sunday night as his Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in New Orleans. Brown was a big contributor in the win as he caught 3 passes for 43 yards and 1 touchdown.

In his Instagram post, Brown said winning the Super Bowl wasn’t what he “thought it would be.” Here’s an excerpt from his post:

“I’ve never been a champion at the highest level before but I thought my hard work would be justified by winning it all,” Brown wrote in part. “It wasn’t. My thrill for this game comes when i dominate. It’s the Hunt that does it for me. It’s when the Db drops his head and surrender because he can’t F with me . The Intense battles. Early mornings. Late nights. Sacrifices.”

It’s a mature reflection from Brown, who just finished his 6th season at the NFL level. He was originally drafted by the Tennessee Titans out of Ole Miss, but he was traded to the Eagles after 3 seasons. Since then, he’s gone for over 4,000 yards with Philadelphia as he’s developed into one of the most complete receivers in the NFL. Only 3 receivers have produced more yardage than Brown since he joined Philadelphia: Tyreek Hill, Justin Jefferson and CeeDee Lamb.

It seems Brown will be highly-motivated to continue growing as a player this offseason — even after tasting victory for the first time.
