AJ McCarron will reportedly partner in bringing sushi restaurant to Tuscaloosa
Is Tuscaloosa lacking in quality sushi restaurants? Apparently, former Crimson Tide quarterback AJ McCarron believes so. According to a report from The Crimson, McCarron is partnering up to help solve the problem. If this place isn’t called Sushi Roll Tide, an opportunity will be badly missed.
Pete Zimmer, co-owner of Ajian Sushi, recently spoke with Christina Ausley of The Crimson and revealed his intentions to open a new sushi restaurant in Tuscaloosa in partnership with McCarron. The sushi restaurant will be located at 1914 University Blvd with a projected opening date of June 1.
The restaurant will feature a ‘build-your-own’ model, allowing customers to assemble their sushi to their specific liking. There will be a few interesting items available, including a Cheeto roll, a peanut butter and jelly roll and a banana and Nutella roll. McCarron’s Cincinnati Bengal teammate Michael Johnson will also reportedly be joining the business venture with Zimmer and the former Tide quarterback.
