Alabama had Ohio State at 3rd and 11 in the red zone, and Tide defensive back Jordan Battle was ejected for targeting on a hit on Ohio State tight end Jeremy Rucker.

Quarterback Justin Fields attempted to hit Rucker on a huge third down play, and Battle came up to break up the play. He also led with his helmet and was ejected for targeting.

It was a textbook targeting call, love it or hate it.

Unfortunately for the Tide’s defense, Battle will be out for the remainder of the game. That’s obviously a huge play and could change the outlook of the game.

Alabama leads Ohio State 21-17 with just over 5 minutes left in the second quarter.
