Alabama fans, have you ever been curious about the idols that today’s football players looked up to when they were kids?
Crimson Tide defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick recently shared who a couple of his favorite players were growing up. They are not much alike, either, as Tuscaloosa News sports reporter Aaron Suttles pointed out in a tweet.
Fitzpatrick listed “Weapon X” Brian Dawkins, who was a 9-time Pro Bowl safety for the Philadelphia Eagles and Denver Broncos, as one of his favorites.
That one makes a lot of sense, considering they play the same position.
The other, Fitzpatrick said, was Florida’s former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback and national champion, Tim Tebow — who Fitzpatrick mentioned was “a lot of fun to watch.”
Suttles sent out the tweet below on Wednesday:
Minkah Fitzpatrick had two favorite players growing up, and they couldn’t be more different.

“He was crazy, always flying to the ball.”2. Tim Tebow (@TimTebow)
“He was a lot of fun to watch on those Florida teams.”— Aaron Suttles (@AaronSuttles) November 8, 2017
