After playing 11 games as Terrell Hall, Alabama outside linebacker is now known as Terrell Lewis.
The name change was first reported by The Tuscaloosa News and confirmed via an Alabama spokesperson, per Bama OnLine. Lewis’ Twitter account already reflects the name change.
As a true freshman, Lewis appeared in 11 games and made 11 tackles. Coming out of St. Johns in Washington D.C., Lewis was rated four stars and ranked the No. 6 weak-side defensive end by the 247Sports Composite. He now plays outside linebacker at Alabama, and is expected to have a bigger role as a sophomore this fall. On A-Day, Lewis had a 60-yard interception return for a touchdown, a spring game highlight.
No reason has been given for the name change.
