To no surprise, the Alabama Crimson Tide was named the No. 1 overall seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament after a 29-5 season and SEC Tournament title victory earlier Sunday afternoon. The Crimson Tide is the No. 1 seed in the South region and will face off against the winner of No. 16 seeds SEMO and Texas A&M CC on Thursday. Their 2nd round matchup would be against San Diego State or Maryland.

The Tide can beat any team in the country in so many different ways. They have a wildly athletic defense, a top to bottom roster and perhaps the best player in the country in Brandon Miller. Head coach Nate Oats has NCAAT experience as well and will look to lead the Crimson Tide past the Sweet 16 for the first time in his tenure.

This is the first time in school history that Alabama is the No. 1 overall seed.

Deep run incoming?

Alabama basketball slightly faltered to end the regular season, perhaps as a result of the national spotlight surrounding the program and Miller, but have since returned to dominant form. The Crimson Tide won 3 straight SEC Tournament games in dominant fashion this past weekend and will be a favorite to cut down the nets in April.

Let the madness begin!
