If you were unaware until now, college football is celebrating its 150th season this year. That’s why the Florida vs. Miami game in Orlando was moved up a week from Saturday, Aug. 31 to Saturday, Aug. 24, in order to honor the 15oth season of the game we all love.

The Week 0 game isn’t the only celebration of this historic event, as a non-profit foundation has been set up to honor the 2019 season. Here is their mission statement of the foundation:

College Football 150th Anniversary is a non-profit corporation formed to plan and administer a national celebration of 150 seasons of collegiate football in 2019. The commemoration will showcase the rich history and traditions of the sport and its contribution to American society and culture, while also promoting the opportunity it continues to provide to thousands of student-athletes across all levels of the sport. The CFB150 staff reports to a Board of Directors made up of representatives from stakeholder groups throughout college football.  The corporation has office space at the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame headquarters in Irving, Texas.

Considering this is a special anniversary for all college football teams, you’ll see a unique “College Football 150th Anniversary” patch on all football jerseys this season. Even Alabama’s classic jersey will be sporting the patch for the coming season.

In a preview video issued by the official Alabama Football Twitter account, the Crimson Tide gave the first look at the patch on the program’s icon jersey.
