Alabama quarterback commit Bryce Young is having a stellar senior season in 2019, and on Friday night, he shined brightest on the national stage. Young led Mater Dei over St. John Bosco 38-24.

Young out-dueled Clemson quarterback commit DJ Uiagalelei, as Uiagalelei is the nation’s No. 1 signal caller according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. Young completed 19-of-32 passes for 256 yards and five total touchdowns, with two of those rushing.

The Clemson commit, Uiagalelei, threw for 312 yards and two touchdowns in the loss.

The Santa Ana, California, native committed to Alabama on September 22 following an official visit to Tuscaloosa. He was previously committed to USC.

“I’ve had some great ones but you might looking at the greatest,” Mater Dei coach Bruce Rollinson told the Orange County Register while talking about Young. “What he brings to the table is crazy. Crazy. He’s taken the whole package. He’s extremely smart. He just sees it, he feels it, he smells it. It’s uncanny to me the decisions he makes.

“And yet he doesn’t make the right decision, he’s point at himself.”

Below are some of Young’s spectacular highlights:
