The Alabama Crimson Tide (16-9, 7-5) crushed the No. 15 Tennessee Volunteers (18-6, 8-4) Saturday night 78-50 before a sold out Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa.
With the win over ranked Tennessee, that makes Alabama an impressive 5-1 against top 25 teams this season.
The Tide’s Donta Hall led all scorers with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Collin Sexton and John Petty also added 16 and 14. The Tide have been a rather head scratching team this year, with wins over Auburn, Florida and Tennessee (the SEC’s top three teams) and losses to the bottom two teams Georgia and Vanderbilt.
Tennessee’s Grant Williams added 16 points, and he was the only Vols’ player in double figures.
If that Alabama team shows up in the NCAA tournament, it could make a serious run.
