Georgia has already added one transfer quarterback this offseason. Could another one be on the way?

The Bulldogs recently added former Wake Forest quarterback Jamie Newman as a grad transfer, which made it seem likely that he’ll take over the starting job vacated by Jake Fromm, who is heading to the NFL. However, another quarterback sent a tweet on Tuesday that could foreshadow a potential quarterback competition at Georgia.

Chase Brice, who could decide to transfer from Clemson, was the sender of this interesting tweet. (He deleted the original tweet, but a screen shot is below.

Brice has been Clemson’s backup quarterback, but it seems unlikely he’d have a chance to play soon. Trevor Lawrence will be back in 2020 for his junior season, and the Tigers added 5-star quarterback DJ Uiagalelei in their 2020 recruiting class.

Over the past two seasons at Clemson, Brice passed for 1,023 yards and nine touchdowns in limited action.

It’s quite possible that Brice, who is from Grayson, Ga., was just sharing a photo from his childhood that doesn’t mean anything toward his future. However, it will be worth monitoring his situation, just in case he does end up wanting to come to the Bulldogs.
