With what’s referred to as “Cupcake Week” in the books, the post-Week 13 AP Top 25 is out. A total of eight SEC teams are in the poll ahead of Week 14’s regular-season-ending slate.
Texas A&M and Georgia stayed put at No. 3 and No. 4 after cruising to victory against Samford and Charlotte, respectively. But Oregon, behind a dominant win over USC, pushed idle Ole Miss out of the top five.
Oklahoma (No. 8) and Alabama (No. 10) saw no movement. The Sooners stifled Mizzou — which dropped out of the Top 25 —while the Crimson Tide coasted past Eastern Illinois behind eight rushing touchdowns. That should certainly send a message to the College Football Playoff selection committee, which called out the Tide’s previous rushing struggles as the reason they dropped six spots after a Week 12 loss to the Sooners.
Meanwhile, Vanderbilt (No. 12) saw no change to its ranking after blowing out Kentucky behind a monster day by Diego Pavia. Texas rose a spot to No. 16 after Arch Manning’s career day against Arkansas. And Tennessee (No. 18) jumped two spots after beating Florida at The Swamp for the first time since 2003.
