Appalachian State might not be the best team in the country.

But the Mountaineers might be the most exciting.

After beating then-No. 6 Texas A&M in College Station last Saturday, Appalachian State was at home today to face Troy, and ESPN’s College GameDay made the trip for the game.

The Mountaineers trailed 28-26 and were facing a 4th-and-10 from their own 47-yard line with 2 seconds to play when Chase Brice connected on a 53-yard game-winning Hail Mary pass to Christian Horn to give the home team a miraculous 32-28 win.

Of course, the Mountaineers also opened eyes in their lone loss of the season.

They were defeated 63-61 by North Carolina to start the year but scored 40 points in the 4th quarter in what has been arguably the game of the 2022 to date.
