Arch Manning could get his shot sooner rather than later — that is, if Texas fans on social media have their way.

Texas trailed Oklahoma, 27-20, in the latest edition of the Red River Rivalry on Saturday. Quinn Ewers hasn’t been at his best, with a statline of 18-of-22 for 199 yards late in the 3rd quarter. While he’s thrown a touchdown, he was also tagged for 2 1st-quarter interceptions. Texas’s offensive line hasn’t done much to help Ewers’s cause, for what it’s worth, as he has been sacked 4 times with nearly 3 quarters complete.

Texas needs to get much better play from Ewers if it’s to beat Oklahoma. If not, Arch Manning might see the field sooner than expected for the Longhorns in relief of QB1.

Fans across social media would love to see Steve Sarkisian make the move to the heralded 5-start recruit — and a member of football royalty, to boot. Here’s some of their reaction to Ewers’s performance as he has yet to see things click on Saturday:
