Silly season is officially here.
Arizona State fired head coach Todd Graham Sunday morning following a 7-5 season, according to SunDevilSource.com. Overall, Graham finished his Sun Devils tenure with an overall record of 46-31 in six seasons. In 2013 and 2014, he recorded back-to-back 10-win seasons.
The school confirmed the report and has since has made it official.
According to USA Today, Texas A&M’s Kevin Sumlin and Vanderbilt’s Derek Mason are candidates for the vacancy, and the Sun Devils have already apparently checked on Sumlin. The report listed Sumlin as a “high priority” for the job.
Currently, Sumlin still is the head coach at Texas A&M, but he’s reportedly set to be fired after losing to LSU Saturday. However, should he leave Texas A&M, Arizona State would be a nice landing spot where he could win immediately.
The coaching carousel is just getting started.
Todd Graham has been dismissed as ASU’s football coach according to a program source.
