Arkansas is losing one of its top defenders to the transfer portal.

Jaheim Thomas, who led Arkansas with 90 tackles in 2023, is reportedly in the transfer portal to find a new home for 2024.

The 2023 season was Thomas’ first as a multi-game starter and he turned in a career year. In 12 games (10 starts), Thomas was third on the team in tackles for loss (6.5) and sacks (3.5). He also logged 5 QB hurries and 2 pass breakups.

Thomas will be transferring for the second time. He joined Arkansas in 2023 after 3 seasons at Cincinnati.

Thomas played in 29 gams over 4 seasons at Cincinnati. The Bearcats considered him a 2020 redshirt after playing in 4 games, though the NCAA does not count 2020 against players’ eligibility due to the COVID-19 conditions.

We’ll see what’s next for Thomas, who figures to draw a lot of interest as an SEC starter in the portal.
