Either John Mincey didn’t care for the hiring of defensive coordinator John Chavis, or John Chavis didn’t see the fit of Mincey in his defense. Whichever way it went, the Georgia defensive lineman is no longer committed to the Razorbacks.

The 6-foot-4, 255-pound Peach State prospect originally committed to Arkansas back in July and was scheduled to take an official visit to the school leading up to National Signing Day but it’s doubtful that still occurs as the lineman has just publicly announced he’s backing off his pledge from the school. Mincey is rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports.

Arkansas is now down to one 2018 commitment, after eight prospects signed with the Razorbacks during the early signing period. The Hogs currently have the SEC’s 14th ranked recruiting class.

Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State and Tennessee have all offered him a scholarship out of the SEC.
