Arkansas wide receiver Jalen Brown left Saturday’s game against Notre Dame in the third quarter after appearing to suffer a significant lower-body injury.

Brown attempted to make a catch in the endzone on a third-down pass from Taylen Green. While he was in the air, a Notre Dame defender collided with him and knocked him off balance. When Brown landed, his left leg appeared to buckle underneath his weight. (You can see the play here. It is graphic.)

Medical trainers tended to Brown on the field and he was eventually taken off on a cart. According to ESPN, Brown was immediately transported from the stadium to Arkansas Children’s Northwest Hospital in Springdale, Arkansas, to undergo X-rays.

Brown is a redshirt sophomore from Miami. He began his career at LSU in 2023, transferred to Florida State for the 2024 season, then joined Arkansas this past offseason.

The 6-foot-1 wideout played a major role in each of his first 5 appearances. Brown caught a touchdown pass in both of the Razorbacks’ first 2 games. He had at least 3 catches in each of his first 3 games.

Entering the Notre Dame game, Brown had 11 receptions for 156 yards and 2 scores. He had 1 reception for 11 yards before exiting Saturday’s game.
