It’s been another down season for Navy but a victory over Army is always sweet. Navy will attempt to keep bragging rights when it faces Army on Saturday in Philadelphia.

Leading up to the rivalry contest, Navy dropped an intense hype video that featured a Friday Night Lights locker room speech.

“Being perfect is about being able to look your friends in the eye and know that you didn’t let them down because you told them the truth. And that truth is that you did everything that you could. There wasn’t one more thing that you could’ve done. Can you live in that moment as best as you can with clear eyes and love in your heart?…If you can do that gentlemen, then you’re perfect.”

Navy’s 4-7 record is below the standard previously established by the program. Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo has a 10-4 record against Army. Navy took the last contest in the matchup 17-13 last season.

“We all feel a little bit of the heat when it’s a down year,” Navy athletics director Chet Gladchuk said to the AP. “But in the final analysis, the buck stops with the head coach. We’re looking for a win against Army.”

Army has a 5-6 record and its last win vs. Navy was a 15-0 shutout victory in 2020.
