Assessing Florida’s 2015 class the week before signing day

Florida is the biggest boom-or-bust program for National Signing Day. The Gators have just 10 commits, which isn’t that big of a surprise knowing the new coaching regime hasn’t had time to make relationships with prospects.

However, big fish remain on the board. Five-stars Byron Cowart, CeCe Jefferson and Martez Ivey are all still big possibilities. The Gators are also on a number of four-stars, too, in RB Jordan Scarlett (Miami commit), WR Ryan Davis (uncommitted), RB Jordan Cronkite (uncommitted) and LB Jeffery Holland (uncommitted).

National Signing Day could either be very good for Florida, or it could be a major letdown. Of the players listed above, Florida feels good about Ivey, Cronkite and Davis. That’s it. The Gators are hoping they can either sign or flip all the other players on signing day.

The class size will end up being around 22-25 prospects, and with just 10 commitments right now, there’s much work to be done. Impact players on offense is a major need, and building depth along the offensive line is a must in this class.
