McDaniels was a 2-year letterman for Davidson in his playing days, playing wide receiver and punter for the Wildcats. After his stint in college, McDaniels made stops at Texas State, Davidson, Boise State and finally Auburn in various roles.
Eastern Washington, an FCS school located in Cheney, Washington, finished last season 3-8.
