An Auburn sophomore guard appears to be leaving Bruce Pearl’s squad.

On Tuesday evening, Tyrell “Turbo” Jones posted a note on Twitter indicating his time on The Plains has come to an end as he looks at other opportunities.

“Thank you Auburn Basketball and I am Forever grateful for my time here. I have now entered the transfer portal. Excited to see what God has in store for me,” Jones tweeted.

Jones had appeared in 5 games for the Tigers this season, including one start. He logged 46 minutes over those 5 appearances, going 2-of-9 shooting from the field and 3-of-5 at the line. He logged 7 points, 6 defensive rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. He played 11 games as a freshman in the 2019-20 campaign.

Originally from Chicago, Jones was a 4-star prospect coming out of West Oaks Academy in Florida. He was rated the No. 18 combo guard and No. 116 prospect nationally in the 2019 class on the 247Sports Composite.
