Auburn coach Gus Malzahn was optimistic at the start of the 2016 season that CB Jeremiah Dinson would be able to suit up for the Tigers at some point.
However, on Tuesday, Malzahn told 247Sports that Dinson’s season is most likely over:
“It doesn’t look like he’s going to (be back this season),” Malzahn, Auburn’s fourth-year coach, said during his weekly press conference Tuesday. “But he’s an outstanding player.”
Dinson was injured on a hit from Texas A&M WR Ricky Seals-Jones, tearing three ligaments in his knee and dislocating both his knee and his shoulder.
With a chance to take a redshirt this season, Dinson should be able to take time to recover and come back strong in 2017.
