Every time Auburn backup QB John Franklin III takes the field, he does something to showcase his immense talent.

However, according to coach Gus Malzahn, Franklin isn’t quite ready for the starting role, which Sean White has taken command of.

On Thursday, Malzahn addressed the media about Franklin, saying he’ll continue to be available as a change of pace off the bench:

Fortunately for the Tigers, there’s no rush to increase Franklin’s role, as the rushing attack has been brilliant in recent weeks.

Another big reason for Auburn’s offensive improvement has been offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee taking over the play calling for the Tigers.

Auburn faces another tough test on Saturday when it travels to Oxford to take on Ole Miss on Saturday night. The game kicks off at 6:15 p.m. Central time and can be seen on the SEC Network.
