Five-star Auburn commit Bralan Womack unintentionally caused a firestorm with his critical comments of the offense after the 23-17 double-overtime loss to Missouri. Now, the elite prospect is setting the record straight on social media.

Womack, rated by 247Sports as the nation’s No. 1 safety, said that his intensity and passion got the best of him in the moment but that he’s fully invested in playing for Auburn.

“In regards to that article that’s circulating, I want to clear the air. My intentions were never to badmouth Auburn’s offense. I’m just a competitor who’s passionate about the game and excited about what’s being built here. Auburn has so much potential, and I can’t wait to be a part of it,” Womack said. “I just don’t want anything taken out of context from what I said about the recent games. I will continue to support my team, win, lose, or draw, but I will also continue to hold us to the highest standard!”

In the initial comments, Womack emphasized that Auburn’s offense was too deficient against SEC opponents. Auburn is 0-4 in conference play this season.

“You’ve got to score 20 or more points to compete. And we’ve done that zero times in SEC play,” Womack told 247Sports. “It doesn’t look like it’s going to change. Nothing’s changing.”

Next up for Auburn is a road matchup at Arkansas on Saturday (12:45 p.m. ET/SEC Network).
