Auburn DC Jeff Schmedding updates Owen Pappoe’s injury status

Owen Pappoe is one of the best linebackers in the country when he’s healthy.
However, in 2021, he battled injuries for much of the season, finishing the year with only 23 tackles (3 for a loss) in 5 games.
And, per new DC Jeff Schmedding, Pappoe is still on the recovery trail. Schmedding said on Wednesday that Pappoe is on a scooter and is out for the spring:
Jeff Schmedding says Owen Pappoe is out this spring. The LB was on scooter the other day.
"He's as locked in and diligent about everything he does as I've seen, really. He's a kid who's learning the game as he's watching."

Obviously, with as much experience as Pappoe has, the spring session isn’t as important for him. Getting him ready for fall camp will be key.
If he can play a full season in 2022, that will be a major boost for Auburn’s defense.
