Auburn likely to be without RB Kerryon Johnson vs. Clemson

It appears that Auburn’s No. 2 running back, Kerryon Johnson, will not be able to play on Saturday in the 13th-ranked Tigers’ road trip to No. 3 Clemson.
“Kerryon Johnson hasn’t practiced at all this week,” Gus Malzahn said Thursday on his “Tiger Talk” radio appearance. He added that Auburn is hoping to have him back “in the near future.”
Johnson went down with a right leg injury last Saturday in the first half of the season opener against Georgia Southern.
While Malzahn did not explicitly say that Johnson would not play against Clemson, it doesn’t look promising. Malzahn said Tuesday he was “hopeful” that Johnson would be able to go.

Johnson was Auburn’s reliable No. 2 back in 2016, rushing for 895 yards and 11 touchdowns behind starter Kamryn Pettway.
