Auburn is licking its wounds after a 20-10 loss against Georgia in Week 7, its third defeat in a row.
Hugh Freeze‘s team now turns its attention to Week 8 as Mizzou comes to Jordan-Hare Stadium. And, according to Circa Sports’ opening odds released on Sunday, Auburn is a -3 favorite.
Auburn’s season started out with three straight wins. It took down Baylor to open the campaign behind four rushing touchdowns — two by Jackson Arnold — before surging past Ball State and topping South Alabama. A switch to SEC play, though, hasn’t gone as planned, with losses to Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and Georgia.
Mizzou, meanwhile, is coming off its first loss of the season after dropping a 27-24 decision to Alabama. Beau Pribula threw for two touchdowns and ran for another but tossed two interceptions while Mizzou finished the day just 1-of-10 on third downs despite going 2-of-3 on fourth-down opportunities.
Auburn and Mizzou are playing each other for just the sixth time, with Auburn leading the series 3-2. The last meeting between the two programs, on Oct. 19, 2024, ended in a 21-17 win for Mizzou. Jamal Roberts’ four-yard touchdown carry with less than a minute to go helped his team overcome a 17-3 third-quarter deficit.
