Auburn and Hugh Freeze have lost some brutal games this year. They entered Saturday’s game against Arkansas 0-4 in SEC play, with those losses being by a combined 29 points. The Tigers were once again in a close game, but outscored the Razorbacks 17-0 in the final quarter to get the 33-24 victory.
After that many tough losses in a row, the team needed a win in the worst of ways. Once they got that win, the Tigers made sure to enjoy the win, as the locker room was absolutely rocking postgame.
It wasn’t easy, as the Tigers were trailing 21-10 late in the first half after Jackson Arnold threw an interception that Kani Walker took 89 yards the other way for a score.
However, the Tigers defense played well all day, and made a big play of its own late in the game. Trailing 24-19 in the fourth quarter, Rayshawn Pleasant took an interception back 49 yards to give Auburn the lead for good.
Running back Jeremiah Cobb had a huge day for the Tigers, as he rushed the ball 28 times for 153 yards.
The Tigers will be back in action next week when they host the Kentucky Wildcats.
