Auburn suffered the first decommitment in the wake of the Bryan Harsin firing when offensive lineman Gernorris Wilson of Lakeland, Florida said he would re-open his recruitment.

Wilson committed to Auburn in September and was the 10th verbal pledge for the Tigers out of the class of 2023, and the second offensive line commit.

“Due to the current circumstances I’ve decided to decommit from Auburn University. My recruitment is 1000% back open.”

It’s unclear which programs Wilson might consider since the Tigers were long a favorite of Wilson, and Auburn was the only program he had officially visited. Auburn originally offered him on June 9. He is ranked as the No. 73 interior lineman in the country by the 247Sports Composite.

The 6-foot-5 and 285-pounder has a reported 17 offers.
