Last season’s breakout star for the Tigers, Kamryn Pettway appears poised to have a huge season for Auburn. The 6-foot, 235-pound bruising back burst onto the scene last year, rumbling for a team-high 1,224 yards in only ten games — including six starts, and his average of 124 rushing yards per game led the SEC last season.

In a new highlight video, Pettway’s Auburn teammates try to describe what it’s like witnessing the massive back in action up close and personal.

“I call him wideload. That’s a truck comin’ in the lane,” safety Tray Matthews says in the video. “You can give him a sweep to the outside, he’s still a big train, moving outside.”

As for tackling him? Good luck says cornerback Carlton Davis.

“You don’t want to see him in the hole, one-on-one. It’s a scary sight,” Davis comments.

While incoming quarterback transfer Jarrett Stidham is receiving the majority of the preseason hype this offseason, the return of a healthy Pettway could very well be the key to Auburn having success on offense next season. Pettway was injured in the Vanderbilt game last season and the Tigers went on to drop three of the final four games of the season following his injury.
