Missouri will travel to Tennessee this weekend looking to continue its recent winning streak but will have to do so without the services of three important players.

During his Tuesday afternoon press conference, Barry Odom announced tight end Albert Okwuegbunam, receiver Nate Brown and cornerback Adam Sparks are all out for the Tennessee game. The losses on offense could alter the Tigers’ passing game that recently got Emanuel Hall back in the lineup.

Okwuegbunam, billed as a preseason All-SEC candidate, has lived up to the hype this season, catching 43 passes for 466 yards and six touchdowns after scoring 11 touchdowns his freshman season. Brown has contributed 12 catches this season for 129 yards.

The tight end also missed the Vanderbilt game but Odom claimed his shoulder injury won’t require surgery. The Missouri coach said Okwuegbunam simply needs rest after being injured in the Florida game.

The 6-4 Tigers could really improve their bowl standing with a win on Saturday while 5-5 Tennessee would clinch a bowl berth by defending their homefield against Missouri.
