Beau Pribula was carted off the field in the third quarter of Mizzou‘s 17-10 Week 9 loss to Vanderbilt on Saturday. Following the game, Eli Drinkwitz said that the Tigers quarterback could be out for “a while” after suffering an apparent ankle injury.
There’s a bit of good news, though, regarding Pribula’s availability for the remainder of the regular season. According to CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz, while Pribula suffered a “a bad sprain and ligament damage,” he could recover in time to be back before the season concludes. Zenitz reports the prospect of that happening, though, as an “outside chance.”
Before leaving the game, Pribula was 9-of-14 for 68 yards while adding 4 carries for 10 yards. Matt Zollers took over and looked good, finishing 14-of-23 for 138 yards and a touchdown.
For the season, Pribula has thrown for 1,685 yards and 11 touchdowns, but has also added 7 interceptions. He also has 71 carries for 220 yards and 5 TDs.
Mizzou, which fell to 6-2 with the loss, has an open week before hosting Texas A&M in Week 11 and FCS Missouri State in Week 12. It then ends the regular season on the road against Oklahoma before facing Arkansas in the latest edition of the Battle Line rivalry.
