Indiana set a milestone on Saturday it wish it hadn’t.

The Hoosiers were in Piscataway, N.J., on Saturday to face Rutgers. After starting the 2022 season at 3-0, Tom Allen’s team entered the game having lost its last 4.

Unfortunately, that losing streak is now 5 games as the Hoosiers dropped a 24-17 decision to the Scarlet Knights. Indiana had a 10-0 lead at one point and was up 14-7 at the break, but saw Rutgers jump ahead for good on a short Samuel Brown V touchdown run late in the 3rd quarter.

The loss was the 700th for the Hoosiers, more than any FBS program. While a bowl game isn’t out of the question for them, things have gone south in a hurry on the gridiron. It’s hard to believe they finished 6-2 and No. 12 in the country in 2020.

Fortunately for Hoosiers fans, basketball season is right around the corner.
