Auburn set itself up for a potential Playoff run with last weekend’s huge win over Georgia. The victory sets up a huge Iron Bowl showdown next weekend that will decide the West division and send the winning team to Atlanta to fight for a Playoff spot.

How will Auburn handle the hype after the big win? We’ll get our first answer against Louisiana Monroe this weekend before Alabama comes to town.

Malzahn spoke during Wednesday’s SEC Coaches Teleconference. Here’s a summary of what the Auburn coach had to say:

  • Opening statements: Big win last Saturday. We’ve had a good week of practice. ULM has a Top 20 offense but our focus is on us.
  • Mercer is playing Alabama, what was your impression on them? How well they were coached. Their kids played really well.
  • What does it say for school’s like Mercer playing two SEC teams? I think you just have to play as hard as you can and continue to get better.
  • Thoughts on the ULM QB? He is a dual-threat, he can really run. He does a good job throwing. He puts pressure on a defense. It presents challenges.
  • Will this game help you prepare for Jalen Hurts? Well, we are focused on this game. Anytime you go against a dual-threat, it helps going against any others.
  • Was there a moment when things ‘clicked’ for Jarrett Stidham? Maybe after the Clemson game. Few weeks after that, he was very efficient with the ball and I think he’s been much more comfortable.
  • What stands out in terms of his progression? His command of the offense. Chip has given him a lot of flexibility in the offense and he’s done well with that.
  • What does into non-conference schedule? Many factors, the AD has a say in that. Each year is a bit different.
