Bo Nix strengthens Heisman case, torches Arizona State for 6 1st-half TDs

Bo Nix is putting on an absolute show for Oregon as the Ducks are in Tempe to face Arizona State.

At halftime, it’s all Oregon as it leads Arizona State 42-0. But the story is Nix, who has absolutely terrorized the Sun Devils. His halftime stat line: 22-of-27, 381 yards, and a school-record tying 6 touchdowns.

It was a virtuoso 1st half performance for the Ducks QB, who made perhaps his strongest case yet for winning the Heisman Trophy. He now has 35 touchdowns on the season — a career-high — versus just 2 interceptions. Compare that to his sophomore year at Auburn, where he tossed 7 picks.

Something else to monitor: Nix’s career high in passing yards is 428, set against Washington State on Nov. 24, 2022. There’s a chance that could fall unless Dan Lanning elects to lift his star quarterback at the start of the 2nd half with the outcome well in hand.
